The spaces lived in the construction of identities in the feminist students of University City, UNAM

Authors

Abstract

Currently, a wide diversity is observed in feminist women who reflect the different ways of interpreting and living this critical framework of interpretation and transformation that is required in the life of each woman. However, there is no clarity on what are the reasons or elements that contribute to the choice and affirmation of each one. Therefore, the present study is to obtain some reflections of a geographical type with the feminist students and to account for the places that have allowed them to develop their ideals (Sabaté et al., 1995). This research was carried out with six stories of feminist women postgraduate students at UNAM, where the origin of why the decision to be a feminist has been made is shown. For the above, the information from the interviews is integrated according to the production of Lefebvre's space and the relief maps of experiences created by María Rodó-Zárate, which allows us to understand the different places where each of the interviewees live and how they perceive it. when analyzing its particularities such as social class or feminism itself, among others. In this way, this work is relevant because it allows us to assess the explanatory capacity of lived spaces and their characteristics within their identities as feminists, knowing the origin or influence of the spatial diversity that is studied within Gender Geography. and of which there are few studies that rescue the experiences of university feminist students in contemporary Mexico.
