Non-sexist education in gender protocols in Chilean universities: diagnostic evaluation and critical perspective

Authors

Abstract

This paper aims to review the content of various gender protocols that Chilean universities have adopted with the purpose of promoting the eradication of sexist education, as one of the demands sustained by the latest feminist student mobilizations occured in the so-called “Feminist May 2018”. For these purposes, three minimum guidelines are established: the use of a non-sexist language, promotion of new teaching methods and the incorporation of a gender perspective in the curricula of the university environment. This research offers a theoretical framework based on feminist theory to support each of these requirements and exposes the measures that have been specifically implemented for them, making visible the progress and the goals still to be achieved.
